news by paying $1775.00 for a pierogi bearing the likeness of Christ.
The pierogi, a Polish crescent moon-shaped noodle dumpling, was recently auctioned on
eBay by Toledo resident, Donna Lee.
Lee said the 'face of Jesus Christ' appeared on the pierogi while cooking for
her family to celebrate Easter, earlier this year.
She was so surprised at the likeness that she froze the Polish
'starter' or side dish and kept it in her freezer until making the decision to
auction it off this month using online auction site, eBay.
For people who have been following the antics of GoldenPalace.com, there will be
no surprise that the 'novelty' item was snapped up by the online gambling
giant.
Said GoldenPalace.com spokesperson, Drew Black, 'Over the past few months we
have acquired quite a large and unusual collection of items, many of them
religious in nature, and felt that the pierogi would complement it perfectly.'
GoldenPalace.com is also the proud owner of Pope Benedict XVI's old
VW Golf motor
car as well as a decade-old grilled cheese sandwich bearing the likeness of the
Virgin Mary.
The online casino has put all of its unusual purchases together as part of a
'mobile museum' traveling around Europe, helping to promote the online
gambling brand.
