February 18 - SEGA, which recently released two brand new online
gambling sites in the form of SEGA Casino and SEGA Poker, has announced that it
has taken important steps to ensure responsible gaming measures on its sites.
The group signed a deal with 192business in order to install age and
verification services at the sites.
In addition, SEGA has partnered with Quova, which will provide the group with
IP geolocation services.
The Head of Sales at 192business, Julie Sands said: "We are excited to
welcome SEGA Games as one of our new customers. By using our age checks, SEGA
Games are not only demonstrating social responsibility, but reducing attempted
fraud. Our extensive databases mean that SEGA Games can be confident that they
know who they are transacting with."
A spokesman for SEGA said that the group believes that responsible gaming is
the essence of developing an enjoyable gaming experience.
"Teaming with 192business provides not only us, but most importantly our
players, with the scrutiny and confidence that their gaming experience is free
of any wrong doing, under age players or unscrupulous activity."
SEGA said that it was very impressed with Quova's excellent reputation in the
online gambling field and "its depth of accuracy".
"By using Quova we can ensure that geographical based content restrictions
are in place, thereby making sure that we comply with the regulatory
requirements of various jurisdictions," said the SEGA spokesman.
