|   | | April 30 - One of the world's largest Internet search engines,
Yahoo!, has
launched its own online gambling operations in the form of real money online poker
games within
the gaming section of its UK & Ireland platform.
Yahoo! UK has formed a partnership with Gibraltar-based online gaming network,
St Minver Ltd, and joined the
well-established online poker network of leading online gambling software developer,
Boss Media.
Executives at Yahoo!, St Minver and Boss Media are reportedly very confident
about the future and success of Yahoo! UK's real money poker offerings,
particularly given the search engine's enormous reach and popularity around the
globe.
Said top Boss Media executive, Markus Holm, 'We are obviously thrilled to be
working with high caliber companies such as Yahoo! and St Minver, and are
confident that this partnership will propel all parties involved to a new level
of online gambling entertainment.'
Unfortunately for US-based online gambling fans, they will not be able to access
the online poker games at Yahoo! UK due to the online gambling ban. However,
with Congressman Barney Frank fighting to reverse the ban, it may not be long
before Americans can too enjoy Yahoo!'s top-end gaming action.
