June 7 - Playtech has announced the signing of a new contract with
Buongiorna SpA, the Italian gaming operator, which will see several of its top
selling games appear in free-play mode on the Winga.it platform.
The games will be available for free until Italian regulation allows for real
money play.
The mobile games will include
blackjack and
roulette, and will complement Playtech's popular Jacks or Better video
online poker game which is currently available
for iPhone and Android devices.
Playtech is one of the first software groups to offer mobile titles to the
Italian market. It stressed that the games were compliant with requirements set
out by the Italian gambling authorities.
Two Gaming Directions
According to the Head of Global Online Gaming for Buongiorna SpA,
Assen Diakovski, the group's iGaming offering at Winga.it is set to develop
across two directions in the coming months, as soon as regulations change in
Italy.
"First, via the expansion on our existing gaming offering to
include lotteries, casino games and more," he said. "This is where our casino
agreement with Playtech will play a key part in enabling this exciting expansion
to happen. Second, in the provision of the Winga.it offering via a mobile
channel, leveraging Buongiorna's ten years of experience in the mobile
ecosystem."
The Head of Mobile for Playtech, Daniel Orkan said that the deal
was a significant step for his group in the Italian market and its ongoing
partnership with Buongiorno. He said that more innovative products would be
delivered as the year progressed.
"We are excited to offer mobile casino games to Italian players,
which will be joined by the launch of an online casino later in the year with
our strong cross platform capabilities," he said.
Platyech's games are among the best in the online gambling world
and have the potential to become hugely popular in Italy.
