May 11 -? American online poker and casino players might soon see one of their favorite gambling sites returning to their shores. Rumor has it that PartyGaming is considering returning to the United States gambling markets in the near future.
PartyGaming, which is the parent company of PartyPoker and PartyBingo is said to be reassessing its position vis a vis the American markets because they feel there is movement towards online gambling legislation.
PartyGaming made a fast exit from the American market when the UIGEA was passed. It was thought that PartyGaming was defying the UIGEA even though the company was never found guilty of anything illegal.
PartyGaming was once considered one of the most dominant online casino and poker companies in the world and their quick pull out from the American market caused them great financial damage, plummeting stock prices and a massive loss of market share.
In a recent statement from Jim Ryan, the Chief Executive of PartyGaming: "We are seeing increased momentum towards regulating online poker. It's possible that it could happen this year and we're prepared if it does."
This change in attitude towards the American markets, comes after several Congressional leaders have shown their support for legalized online poker. One of these leaders is Barney Frank who is a main force behind the campaign.
Other states such as Nevada, New Jersey and Florida are considering implementing state-level measures in order to regulate online gambling, irrespective of the UIGEA.
The US online gambling market was once a very lucrative one, and big companies like PartyGaming are waiting with bated breath in order to be able to reenter this arena and once again return to previous days of glory.
