July 22 - A man in Cantonment, Florida was electrocuted on Wednesday when a
lightning struck his home and traveled through his PC into his body while he was
playing online poker.
Eddie Wilkenson was playing poker online when he heard the lightning and saw a
flash.
Said Eddie, who spent Thursday recovering in hospital, 'I felt a jolt go up my
right arm and through my whole body and I couldn't move. My whole body went weak
but I had enough strength to phone his mother.'
Doctors have said that Wilkenson will need physical therapy to recover full use
of his arm.
'I had been warned against using my PC during thunderstorms but I didn't take
the warnings seriously and felt like playing some online poker. Where there is
thunder, there is lightning. If you hear it, stay off your computer,'said Eddie.
