August 1 -? One of the Internet's most respected online gambling software
firms, CryptoLogic, has signed a deal with leading men's magazine empire,
Playboy Enterprises Inc, to launch a Playboy-branded online poker room.
Based in Canada, CryptoLogic Inc. has signed a lucrative three-year licensing
deal with Playboy which means CryptoLogic will be the sole online poker software
provider for the Playboy online poker site.
Ironically, the Playboy poker site will marketed to online poker fans all over
the world except in the United States where online gambling seems to be on the
verge of being outlawed completely.
Playboy and CryptoLogic also have an existing agreement in place to launch a new Playboy online casino website. Playboy Enterprises Inc is planning to
promote its online gambling websites through its existing print and online
publications.
In a statement Playboy chief executive Christie Hefner, 'In CryptoLogic, Playboy
has found an innovative and proven partner who can help us capitalize on the
growth and excitement of online poker.'
