Cryptologic, has acquired a well-known online poker room operated by
Scandinavian firm Parbet.com for 9 million Euros.
The hefty purchase price includes the Parbet.com domain, brand, existing online
poker software, payment gateway services, customer care facilities, player
databases, mailing lists and all remaining assets associated with Parbet.com.
Over and above the 9 Euro million purchase price, Cryptologic has endeavored to fork out an additional 4 million Euros depending on the brand's performance over the next six months from today (Monday, January 15 2007).
Online gambling industry analysts expect that the Parbet.com purchase will add
approximately 1.5 million Euros to Cryptologic's 2007 earnings.
While Cryptologic software powers some of the world's most popular and lucrative
online casinos, it's licensees do not accepted online gamblers based in the
United States.
