March 8 - The online gambling software provider - Playtech announced impressive results for last year. The company's profit prior to tax was almost twice that of the previous year. This is mainly due to expansion in Europe and Asia.
The result for 2006 showed almost a 90% increase in total revenue.
Their report reveals that expansion in Europe and Asia are chief factors for the positive outcome. With the focus on new markets, the group was able to make up for its U.S. losses that followed the strict online gambling legislation.
Playtech's large international group of clients, particularly in Asia and Europe, meant that the company suffered a smaller impact following a quick withdrawal of their US licensees.
