April 20 - The United States government has requested a New York federal judge to allow another continuance for one of the NETeller co-founders, Steven Lawrence. The US Department of Justice brought charges of money laundering and tax evasion related to illegal online gambling. This is now the fourth postponement of the preliminary hearing.
Online players who made payments to online casinos money is being held as evidence. It is estimated that these players are owed in excess of $3m. There is also an additional$52m being held in relation to the case. Many players are also nervous that they may be charged with online gambling.
