|   | | January 29 - A new campaign has been launched by eCOGRA, an online gambling industry 'watchdog', that provides protection to online players through fair and honest gambling on eCOGRA-monitored online casinos.
The new campaign, which boasts the logo 'Play It Safe', has been developed by top UK media companies to ensure that online casino players and consumers are treated fairly by online casinos, and that the casinos conduct their businesses responsibly.
As part of the campaign, eCOGRA will be involved in extensive banner advertising on widely-accessed online gambling portals, emailers, online casino newsletters and public relations exercises with large online casino affiliates.
Andrew Beveridge ,eCOGRA CEO, explained that the purpose of the campaign is to spread the word that independently enforced, self-imposed industry regulation results in fairer and more honest service to the online gambler.
He said that the organisation would ensure that its message was delivered accurately and effectively to form a strong foundation for future campaigns.
The campaign, which will run during the first quarter of 2005, will be overseen and monitored by eCOGRA. Advertising material for the campaign will highlight eCOGRA's independent status and provide facts on the benefits for compliant online casinos.
