Online Casino Rules Unveiled by UK Gambling Commission

March 15 - The UK Gambling Commission has published rules and regulations
designed to govern and monitor the new generation of land casinos popping up all
over Great Britain, including online casinos and online gambling websites.
The Commission will ensure that land casino operators in the UK adhere to strict
regulations and guidelines, which include making sure that casinos only employ
licensed dealers, that they provide help facilities for problem
gamblers and that they enforce restrictions on alcohol in their casinos.
If any of the rules enforced by the UK Gambling Commission are contravened by a
casino, the casino in question may have its operating license revoked.
The chairperson of the UK Gambling Commission, Peter Dean commented that the
Commission has used its vast international experience to ensure that standards
of social responsibility among current and future UK gambling operators would
become the highest in the world.
In the UK alone last year, it is estimated that as much ?53 billion was spent in
land and online gambling activities combined. Approximately one million people
gamble online regularly in the United Kingdom.
