Online Casino Regulations Tightened up in Gibraltar

December 22 - Popular licensee for online casinos and legal online gambling
jurisdiction, Gibraltar, has revised its laws to improve the statutory
legalities surrounding the licensing and regulation of online gambling within
its jurisdiction.
It has been reported in the media that the popular Mediterranean-based online gambling jurisdiction has passed new laws with the objective of better
licensing and regulating online casinos within its
jurisdiction.
A government controlled Licensing Authority has been introduced by the
government, with the
Gibraltar Regulatory Authority being appointed to act as the current Gambling
Commissioner.
A spokesperson speaking on behalf of the Gibraltar Government commented that the new online gambling regulations would provide a modern
governmental framework for regulation and licensing of online casinos within
Gibraltar's jurisdiction.
