|   | | January 31 - A well-known online casino has offered odds to its online gamblers on
predicting the winners in the upcoming 77th Annual Academy Awards, to be held in Los Angeles
later this month.
Leading the odds in the best actor category at 3/2 is Jamie Foxx, nominated for
his role portrayal of Ray Charles in the film 'Ray'. Close on his tail at 2/1 is Leonardo
Di Caprio nominated for his role as eccentric billionnaire, Howard Hughes, in
the film 'The Aviator'. English actor, Clive Owen is favoured at 3/2 for best
supporting actor in 'Closer', followed at 2/1 by Thomas Haden Church for his
role in 'Million Dollar Baby'.
In terms of the ladies, previous Oscar winner, Hillary Swank, is leading the way
at 3/2 for her leading role in 'Million Dollar Baby'. Regarding Best Director,
Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese are tied at 3/2 odds.
Probably the most exciting category of all, Best Picture, has raised some
interesting odds and created serious interest. Scorcese, again, leads the way
with odds of 3/2 for 'The Aviator', followed by 'Sideways' at 3/1, 'Finding Neverland'
at 6/1 and 'Ray' trailing at 10/1 odds.
Said CEO, Calvin Ayre, of Bodog.com Sports Casino Poker whose online casino is
offering the odds: 'As the largest movie awards show in Hollywood and the world,
The Acadamy Awards was a natural choice as a betting forum.
'We are very excited about the response of our players to the Academy Awards
this year as there are no clear front-runners, unlike last year when Lord of the
Rings was tipped from the beginning to win just about everything, and did.'
