|   | | November 20 - Its official - online casino gambling has hit the mainstream in
America as the legalities surrounding online gambling in the US are discussed
this evening on the top-rated investigative TV show, 60 Minutes.
The show, which will be aired on CBS at 7:00 - 8:00pm, Eastern/Pacific Time, has
been billed as a comprehensive report on the question of whether online gambling
should be legalized in the United States or not.
It's no secret that millions of Americans access and play at online casinos and
online poker rooms each day, not to mention those that use online sportsbooks or
sports betting websites.
There is a general consensus amongst supporters of legalizing online gambling
that the US government could greatly benefit from the millions of tax dollars
that would be generated through the legalization and correct regulation of
online gambling in the country.
However, many opponents of online gambling feel that it is a pastime that has
the potential to corrupt children and create long-term gambling problems and
addictions within the American family.
From a domestic online casino point of view, US operators are frustrated that
due to the nation's illegal online gambling status, huge gambling revenues are
currently being generated by US based players and are ending up in the offshore
coffers of foreign online casino owners and operators.
Tune in to watch 60 Minutes this evening and decide for yourself.
