May 10 - Online casino, Golden Palace Casino, has paid over $2 800 for a set of
watercolor paintings done by 7-year-old cancer patient, Maddox Johnson.
Johnson, who hails from Union, Kentucky, put his paintings up for sale on
top online auction website, eBay, to raise money to help pay for some his cancer
treatments.
When interviewed, the little boy said that it was his idea to auction some of
his paintings online, to help his parents defray some of the costs incurred for
his chemotherapy treatments.
Maddox suffers from a particular strain of cancer called
T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.
Said Goldenpalace.com spokesperson Jeff Kay, 'Over the years we have bought some
weird and wonderful items off eBay, such as the famous Virgin Mary grilled
cheese sandwich, a kidney stone passed by actor, William Shatner and the car
once owned by the Pope.
'However, we saw this purchase as an opportunity to do good by helping little
Maddox to pay of some of his medical bills, plus, the paintings are pretty good,' he said.
