December 3 - The passing of new legislation may not be as severe as some may think. Although the passing of the Act is intended to limit online gambling, , Lawrence Walters who is an attorney specialising in the laws of online gambling says that the act is fairly obscure.
Amongst the largest of the critics of the act are the banks as they will have to ensure that transactions are not related to online gambling. Financial institutions are required by the United States government to closely monitor transactions. This means that banks would be at a loss and it is estimated that it will be a major blow with the United States out of the market.
There are limited payment options for online poker players yet strangely the legislation does not entirely prohibit online play.
Politicians are also concerned about this ban, stating that it is flawed and has a loophole.
