| August 7 - Devilfish Gaming, the Manchester based online gambling
firm, has landed itself one of the most experienced gambling heads in the
country with the appointment of David Boden as its new executive chairman.
Boden, who replaces Kevin Leech in the role, has many years of experience
running gambling companies in the United Kingdom. He joined Mecca Leisure in
1977 and slowly worked his way up to finally become the company's Operations
Director in 1989.
Over the years, Boden improved his position in the Rank Group, first becoming
managing director of Rank Amusements before taking over the role of MD for
Grosvenor Casinos, also owned by the group.
Finally, in 2005, Boden reached the peak in his career, heading very
successfully the Rank Group Gaming Division, which saw profits soar under his
leadership.
Speaking about Boden's appointment, the outgoing executive chairman, Kevin
Leech, said: "I am very happy that the Board has secured the services of such a
high-profile gaming industry expert and I take great pleasure in David taking
over the Executive Chairmanship of the company."
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive for Devilfish Gaming, Paul Barnes said: "The
appointment to David Boden to the Board is a very significant milestone to our
evolution as a multi-channel branded gaming operator. In addition to his many
achievements, David has a strong profile with the financial investment
community. It will be a great pleasure to be working closely with David taking
Devilfish Gaming to the next level."
Boden himself was all pleased with the appointment. "Devilfish.com is a
highly innovative online gaming brand with an extremely competent management
team," he said. "It has considerable potential to build on the firm foundations
that already exit and I look forward to helping the team realize that
potential."
