November 3 - With the Italian gambling market going through a welcome process
of regulation, many online gambling companies are scrambling to find their way
into this market through mergers and partnerships.
The Swedish Net Entertainment group has announced a major breakthrough
into the Italian industry by signing a lucrative license agreement with Italy's
largest remote gaming service provider, Microgame.
Microgame will take delivery of Net Entertainment's quality CasinoModule,
providing the Italian group with access to an extensive range of leading casino
games and features.
CasinoModule is a complete gaming platform that incorporates a powerful,
customizable administration tool with top quality games.
The Chief Executive Officer of Net Ent, Johan Ohman said about the new deal:
"Gambling is huge in Italy and is expected to generate a Gross Gaming Yield
exceeding 17 billion Euro in 2009, making it the country's third largest
industry. In light of this, it is obviously extra encouraging that one of the
dominant incumbents selects Net Entertainment as their strategic casino partner,
thereby giving us a substantial footprint in a totally new market."
Microgame is authorized by the Italian Autonomous Administration of State
Monopolies (AAMS) as a gaming service provider.
The Chief Executive Officer of the group, Fabrizio D'Aloia said: "We are very
happy to join Net Entertainment to our exciting gaming project for the new
emerging Italian casino games market."
"The world wide recognized Net Entertainment's expertise in the casino games
development and marketing will be strategic for Microgame to maintain the
leadership on the Italian online gaming market."
