July 17 - The South American gambling market is ever-expanding, with many
operators trying to get a stronger foothold into a region that has far from
reached its full potential.
One such company, the Greek mega gambling company, Intralot, has
introduced an innovative way to bring its lottery products to
millions of players in Peru.
Intralot's subsidiary company in Peru is now offering players the option of
entering into one of several lottery products that it runs using short messaging
systems (SMS).
Intralot Peru has been offering games such as La Kabala, La Tinka, Rapigana,
Gana Diario, Super Tres and Rapitinka for several years already, many of which
have become household names in this South American country.
To make these brands even more accessible to the local population, Intralot
Peru has devised a system whereby players can play the lotteries from an SMS
platform.
All players need to do is purchase a prepaid card, known as a Lotocard and
scratch off the strip on the card which will reveal a fourteen digit code. This
code is then sent, via text message of course, to the number 5686 and an account
will be automatically activated.
The cost of the text message is covered by Intralot Peru, while the card is
paid for by the player.
A text message will be sent back to the player the following day should he or
she be lucky enough to win anything through the lotteries.
The Lotocard only covers Genagol, Gana Diario and La Tinka games at present,
by Intralot hopes to make others more available with time. It is
expected that more than ten million new players will begin to play the company's
lottery games as a result of the SMS option.
