| | | September 19 - The US-based lottery company, GTech has expanded even further into global markets following a lucrative 20 year contract that was signed with Loto Real Del Cibao. Under the terms of the deal, GTech will provide the Dominican Republic with its first online lottery brand through the concession that was awarded to Loto Real recently.
"We are extremely satisfied to have signed a 20 year contract with the world's largest and most competitive online lottery company," said the President of Loto Real, Jose Bernardo Guzman. "This project's moving forward is a reflection of the confidence that international firms like GTech have in making direct investments in the Dominican Republic, largely due to the institutional integrity that now exists. We have worked hard to achieve this great step. Our experience for more than two decades in the area of traditional games in our country, together with the experience and knowledge of GTech, ensures from the beginning that we will be well positioned to become the leader in online lotteries operated in the Dominican Republic."
The 20 year deal, which will come into effect from the beginning of next year, will grant GTech exclusive rights to provide Loto Real with a complete internet lottery system, future gaming options and terminals. Gaming analysts predict that GTech stands to generate a whopping $130 million from the deal.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of GTech, Jaymin Patel said in response: "This contract with Loto Real, which comes on the heels of our recently announced contract with Pollo Chilena in Chile, is further evidence of lotteries in Latin America and the Caribbean continuing to turn to GTech for our superior service, our extensive experience in the region and our broad portfolio of product and services offerings."
