| | |  February 14 - Despite the crippling effect that the passing of the Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIEGA) in the United States has had on the
online gambling industry as a whole, large operators such as 888 Holdings
have reported growth in some areas.
As one of the biggest 'players' in the online gambling industry, 888 Holdings
- which owns and operates top online casino 888.com - reported a 35 percent
increase in Real Money players in the final quarter of 2006, despite the US
crack-down on online gambling.
For the same period the online gambling giant reported a net gaming revenue of
$157 million from its non-US business, a 28 percent increase from the year
previous (2005).
However, 888 Holdings' net gaming revenue for all business (US included) was up
by 7 percent in the same period. The continued success of 888 despite the US
situation can be attributed to seeking and marketing to new markets.

launched new German and Spanish online casinos, as well as
acquired a sports betting license valid for Italy last year. That coupled with
the fact that 888 Holdings will shortly launch a new 'mobile casino' this month,
has ensured that online gambling revenues have continued to increase in 2007.
