January 4 - Betsson AB has made two announcements with regards to Realm Entertainment.
Betsson has left the Turkish market and ceased all operations in the country. They have sold their client list in Turkey to Realm Entertainment for ?1.9 million.
In addition, the new Malta licensed online gaming portal belonging to Realm Entertainment will be based on Betsson's platform.
The platform is provided and operated by Betsson's Business Solutions independent business-to-business subsidiary.
The five year deal will provide Realm Entertainment with a portal containing a sportsbook, casino and poker rooms.
This allows for white-labeling of the entire product range. All aspects of the portal will be available in English, Greek, Dutch, German, Spanish and Turkish.
The first quarter of 2011 should see the approval and operational start-up of the portal.
Pontus Lindwall, Betsson CEO stated "Betsson shows once again that we are leading in our field in terms of technology."
He continued that "with this new platform we can deliver a complete gaming portal including a sportsbook of world class quality to many potential clients, which is a part of our business-to-business strategy."
Betsson expects that this deal with Realm Entertainment will lay foundations for further expansions with other clients.
Lindwall commented that the agreement with Realm will "certainly be good for other deals" and that "once we get this up and running it will be a good showcase for other markets."
Betsson is a Swedish online gambling company and while they will no longer operate in the Turkish market they will remain "active on the technical side of things," according to a senior company executive.
Betsson is licensed within the EU in Malta.
