Antigua another step closer to favorable online gambling ruling - 02-02-07
>>

February 2 - There is a legal battle between the United States and Antigua regarding online gambling. The US has taken another knock. A report issued by the World Trade Organization states that the U.S. failed to take the necessary steps to resolve the 4-year long online gambling issue.
The USA has taken steps and passed additional laws for the prohibition of online gambling in the country. The WTO allows countries to ban foreign services, however they need to have local laws in place which prohibit the same services in their own country. This is something that the U.S. has failed to do - they continuously exclude online horse race betting and online lotteries from all laws that prohibit online gambling.
The US has time to appeal and submit comments to the WTO.
