February 16 - The leading online casino, Golden Lounge, currently powered by
Microgaming software group, has been acquired by the London trading 32Red
gaming operator.
It was only recently that 32Red announced that it had purchased Netplay
gaming group.
32Red will take over Golden Lounge online casino's software contracts, domain
name and intellectual property, as well as liabilities that amount to just over
GBP 100K.
The group will also take over Golden Lounge's player database.
"Both deals were compelling and similar in many ways and we expect to
integrate both casinos smoothly and quickly into our platform," said the Chief
Executive Officer of 32Red, Ed Ware.
"At this stage, it is too early to assess whether the acquisitions will be
earning enhancing in 2010, but they are a good fit as both casinos have
historically focused on European territories away from the UK, whereas 32Red
continues to be a UK-centric brand," Ware added.
Ware said that the group would now apply its award winning levels of customer
support, discipline and marketing to both new brands.
"The sector continues to evolve quickly and 32Red remain committed to
capitalizing on suitable opportunities that may present themselves," said Ware.
