March 13 - iGaming News reported that last February's Pacific Congress on Interactive Gaming (PCIG) resulted in a record-breaking turnout. There were more than 200 online casino and gaming professionals present, all eager to penetrate the developing Asian online gaming market. This year's attendance saw an increase of 52%.
There were a couple of the big names as sponsors, speakers and exhibitors and the PCIG was packed with high level gaming executives all with the same goal of working together to identify possible roadblocks and avenues for positive exploitation.
The conference also explained to new operators to the Asian gaming region why business is done in Asia and the factors influencing gaming trends.
Taking into consideration there was a recent announcement by the Macau gambling regulators that the time to license and regulate online casinos and gambling sites is close, there is definitely a positive attitude as to what the future holds for the gaming industry in Asia.
